Nelly Korda sits tied for eighth place, heading into the final round of the 2024 CME Group Tour Championship. Fresh off a win at the Annika last week, the World No. 1 golfer is seeking her eighth title of the season this weekend at the Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida.

Following the conclusion of her stellar second round, Korda headed into a very wholesome post-round interview with Sophia Popov, a German LPGA Tour professional. The 2024 Rolex Player of the Year was Popov’s first interview outing as a journalist.

The German golfer said (via X @LPGA):

“That’s awesome! Obviously, I wish you all the best for the rest of the weekend and I’m very honoured you were my first interview.”

Korda followed up the interview by congratulating her with a hug and complimenting her on how “great” she did. As the LPGA Tour superstar was walking away, the crowd showered in compliments for Popov as she went to high-five Korda.
