A LIV Golf general manager claims at least two high-profile PGA Tour players will join the breakaway league in 2025.

A LIV Golf general manager has claimed at least two high-profile PGA Tour players will join the breakaway in 2025 after having regrets about previously turning down big-money moves.

In an interview with Matt Vincenzi of SI, the anonymous general manager said the players have told him it was ‘the worst decision of their lives’ by not accepting the lucrative offers.

“Two guys that had very big offers that are now calling would love to be on a LIV team and said that was the worst decision they made is not accepting the offer and coming over,” he said.

He added: “My phone’s been ringing nonstop basically since right before Dallas and things are starting to happen from either players directly or agents calling exploring and wanting to look at the possibility of coming on.”

Which players could the general manager be talking about?

LIV have not announced any fresh signings yet.

Their third full campaign gets underway next February in Riyadh.

Five players were relegated from the league in 2024, with Bubba Watson, Kalle Samooja, Branden Grace, Kieran Vincent and Scott Vincent finishing in the drop zone.

It is understood Watson will return as the playing captain of the RangeGoats.

And the South African Stinger team are keen on tying up Grace to one more year, providing he doesn’t play his way back onto the league via LIV’s upcoming Promotions event, where one ticket will be given away.

The International Series’ order of merit winner will also be playing on LIV next year, and that is likely to go to the American John Catlin.

That leaves a few spots vacant.

It is understood that Jon Rahm wants to add a high-profile player to his team.

Rahm is reportedly targeting a Callaway staffer.

Elsewhere, SI have reported that Dustin Johnson wants to sign a younger player to replace either Pat Perez or Harold Varner III.

Varner and Perez narrowly avoided relegation.
