Injury-Plagued Lexi Thompson to Abandon LPGA for an Extended Period After Old Issues Resurface at $3M Event
Lexi Thompson announced ending her full-time professional career after the 2024 season of the LPGA Tour. Speaking at the US Women’s Open, she emphasized her longstanding dedication to the sport, which has profoundly shaped her life over the course of a decade. The outcome, although, can vary, sometimes resulting in negativity and other times in positivity. Nonetheless, being a golfer has always been her favorite thing.
She said, “I’m so blessed and grateful for the family I have. I’m just very blessed for the family I have … Just to have my family and friends and the amount of fans that were out there this week, that’s what we want.” The 29-year-old golfer appeared at the Pinnacle Country Club last weekend, finishing at T15, with a 7-under. But looks like, she will be taking a break for a few days after that.
