The World No. 1, Scottie Scheffler, has an astounding +7 handicap while playing on home ground. When other golfers play with someone having such a low handicap score, it’s difficult to keep the game fair. As a result, a few strokes are given to the opponent partner by Scottie Scheffler.

In an X.com video by Golfbet recently, Scheffler revealed that he gave 20 shots to a golfer.

“I gave one of the guys 20 shots,” Scottie Scheffler said.

In the video, other golfers also shared how many shots they gave. Xander Schauffele shared that he gave fourteen shots to someone. Tommy Fleetwood revealed that he gave his father eighteen shots. Along with Fleetwood, Shane Lowry had the second-highest number of shots given to someone: eighteen.

Apart from them, Viktor Hovland shared how giving shots to a friend during a golf match got him ‘hustled’. Sam Burns also revealed how he got ‘smoked’ after giving extra shots to their playing partners.

Next, Scottie Scheffler will be playing at the Presidents Cup along with his US compatriots, including Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark, Collin Morikawa, Patrick Cantlay, and more. The match will start on September 24 at the Montreal Golf Club.

Justin Thomas disagrees with Scottie Scheffler giving extra shots to pros

At the Tour Championship, Justin Thomas joined a press conference, where he was asked whether he agreed with Scottie Scheffler with a lower handicap index of 7 that giving extra shots to his playing partner is agreeable or not. To that, Thomas answered that if Scheffler did that with him, he’d find it disrespectful and the action would make Thomas question his abilities.
