Here’s the prize money payout for each golfer at the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship

Playoffs? Don’t talk about playoffs. Are you kidding me? Playoffs?

Yes, we’re only midway through August and only have three events remaining in the PGA Tour season. Up first, the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind for the first top of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. The top 70 in regular-season points are here in muggy Tennessee with the top 50 advancing next week to the BMW Championship at Castle Pines in Colorado.

The unquestionable No. 1 player in the world, Scottie Scheffler, is looking for his seventh PGA Tour win of the season, or the eighth overall after capturing the gold medal two weeks ago at the Paris Olympics. Although to say he’s not a fan of how the season ends on his tour would be an understatement.

“It’s quoted as the season-long race, but at the end of the day it really all comes down to East Lake,” Scheffler said earlier in the week. “I talked about it the last few years. I think it’s silly. You can’t call it a season-long race and have it come down to one tournament.”

He’ll still has some work to do over the next few weeks to cap off his dominating year. Xander Schauffele, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Ludvig Aberg, Sahith Theegala, Hideki Matsuyama, Sungjae Im and Shane Lowry round out the top 10 in the standings.

The overall purse this week is $20 million with the winner taking home $3.6 million for his victory.

Viktor Hovland is the defending FedEx Cup champion but is well down the rankings at No. 57. He’ll have to play well this week at TPC Southwind in order to advance to Round 2 of the playoffs next week.

Here’s the complete rundown of what each player will earn this week. Check back here shortly after play is complete on Sunday for updates.
