Rory McIlroy found woman’s lap with tee shot and delighted crowd with priceless reaction

Rory McIlroy has completed yet another season without a major – but his popularity among fans remains high as ever.

The world no.2 is still waiting to add to his four-major tally having won his most recent one back in 2014.

However, with 26 PGA Tour wins and 17 DP World Tour victories to his name, McIlroy is still one of the greatest golfers of his generation.

Although the last 12 months will be remembered for his late collapse at the US Open, the Northern Irishman has won four professional events and delighted fans across the globe.

One of his biggest achievements was claiming the Race to Dubai and winning a record fourth Rolex Series event on the DP World Tour.

But for one fan, his most memorable moment came in an event where McIlroy finished T22.

Back in November 2023, the 35-year-old found was already Race to Dubai champion and arrived at the European circuit’s season-ending event with little to play for.

And that carefree attitude perhaps resulted in some wayward shots at Jumeirah Golf Estates, where the DP World Tour Championship was being held.

One in particular, at the par-three 13th, was so far right it landed in a spectator’s lap.
