Jordan Spieth, a13-time PGA tour winner and three-time Majors winner has committed to play in the 2025 Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands.

Spieth made arguably the greatest shot in tournament history to win the 2017 Travelers Championship by holing a bunker shot on the first playoff hole to defeat Daniel Barger in his debut in the tournament.

“Jordan has been one of the most successful, exciting players on the PGA TOUR ever since he turned pro, as we witnessed firsthand when he won the Travelers Championship with an unforgettable bunker shot,” Andy Bessette, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at Travelers said in a press release. “That was quite an introduction to golf fans in Connecticut, and over the years they’ve watched Jordan win the biggest events and author so many memorable moments. We’re looking forward to seeing what he can do at TPC River Highlands this year.”

The Travelers, a Signature Event on the PGA Tour, will take place June 18-22.

This will be his sixth appearance at the Travelers. He placed 63rd last year, 54th in 2020 and 42nd in 2018. He missed the cut in 2022 and 2019.

Spieth is currently ranked 51st in the Official World Golf Ranking.

“Having Jordan in the tournament field gives our fans another popular PGA TOUR star to root for this year,” Nathan Grube, Travelers Championship Tournament Director said in a press release. “He’s had a phenomenal career and is having a solid season, knocking on the door of yet another victory. Based on his history at TPC River Highlands, it just might come here.”

In 2017, Spieth joined Lee Trevino as the only players to win the PGA Tour event in Connecticut as well as the Open Championship in the same year. Trevino did it in 1972. Spieth won at Royal Birkdale in his next start after his playoff victory at the Travelers Championship.

In 2015, Spieth won the Masters and the U.S. Open and was named the PGA Tour Player of the Year.

He has been a member of Team USA at the Ryder Cup five times (2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2023) and at the Presidents Cup four times (2013, 2015, 2017, 2022).

Spieth joins each of the current top eight players in the world rankings who have previously committed: No. 1 and defending champion Scottie Scheffler, who recently tied the 72-hole PGA Tour scoring record last weekend at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, No. 2 Rory McIlroy, the reigning Masters champion, No. 3 Xander Schauffele, the 2022 Travelers winner, No. 4 Collin Morikawa, No. 5 Justin Thomas, No. 6 Ludvig Aberg, No. 7 Hideki Matsuyama and No. 8 Russell Henley. No. 11 Maverick McNealy and No. 12 No. 9 Viktor Hovland are also committed.
