The excitement from when Lexi Thompson announced the new chapter of her life is still fresh in every golf fan’s heart. It was a moment that sent shockwaves of joy through the golfing world – Lexi Thompson shared the news that she said yes to her boyfriend, Max Provost! The proposal was a winter wonderland dream come true, with Max popping the question on January 1, 2025, during a romantic getaway to Whistler, surrounded by breathtaking snow-covered landscapes. Thompson’s Instagram post, “The best part of my trip to Whistler ….😏🙈 I said YES to my forever and always ❤💍 1.1.25”, still brings a smile to our faces.

As the news spread like wildfire, fans flooded social media with congratulatory messages and well-wishes for the happy couple. But, as it often does, reality had a few unexpected twists in store. Max Provost recently spilled the tea that the day wasn’t exactly perfect – the weather had other plans! Given that they got engaged in Whistler, a ski resort town in British Columbia, Canada, known for its heavy snowfall during winter months, it’s no surprise that the weather did cause trouble.

For the big day, they had an engagement photographer, Emily Serrell, to click pictures of the memorable moment. Recently, Serell posted some pictures of the couple on Instagram, congratulating them on their big day. Interestingly, Thompson’s fiance exposed the mishaps that went down that day in the comment section. Provost revealed that the weather caused some delays, saying, “Was an amazing day!! Thank you again for saving it with all the weather delays “. It’s clear that the snowy conditions and icy roads may have impacted their plans, but Thompson’s presence and Serell’s determined attitude helped make the day special and memorable despite the weather delays. However, the weather did play a huge role in providing a beautiful backdrop for this proposal—scenic snow-covered mountain ranges. Something Provost must’ve had in mind when he planned for this moment.
