After a valiant effort at the 2024 CME Group Championship, Lexi Thompson fought back tears, knowing it marked the end of her full-time golfing career. Having announced her partial retirement earlier in the season, she took a brief return to competition at the Founders Cup last week, honoring the pioneers of the LPGA Tour. However, it seems she’ll be stepping away once again.

Following her T13 finish at the event, Thompson revealed she’d be taking time off to celebrate her 30th birthday, which fell on February 10. In an Instagram post, she shared, “Was a solid week, the first week back with a T13 finish; time to celebrate big 30 tomorrow 🙈 and have some weeks off!” But February had more surprises in store for her than just a milestone birthday.

This Valentine’s Day was particularly special for Thompson, as it marked her first as the fiancée of Max Provost. For over a decade, he had celebrated the day with his girlfriend, but this year was different—he had proposed on New Year’s during their trip to Whistler, making their first Valentine’s as an engaged couple even more meaningful.

Thompson shared her joy with fans on Instagram, posting a stunning photo of herself in a red dress, followed by a story featuring a selfie with Provost, captioned, “Valentine for life.” The couple has been celebrating their love in grand fashion over the past few weeks, from an intimate proposal to a lavish engagement party with friends and family.

Lexi Thompson’s Grand Engagement Celebration
On January 13, Thompson and Provost celebrated their engagement with a dreamy party. She shared glimpses of the special day on Instagram, showing the couple surrounded by soft white balloons, radiating happiness. Both dressed in white—though Max’s brown leather shoes added a charming touch—their love was on full display. She simply captioned the story: “Engagement party.”

But the day held another meaningful event for Thompson. She attended the Morgan & Friends charity event alongside her mother, an annual gathering hosted by Morgan Pressel to support breast cancer research. Sharing a heartfelt moment from the occasion, she wrote, “Time for Morgan and Friends with my mom ☺️💕.”

Filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories, the past few weeks have been unforgettable for Thompson and Provost. Their fans couldn’t be happier for them—after all, their love story is as heartwarming as it is inspiring.
