Scottie Scheffler Withdraws From Another PGA Tour Event Through Injury

Scheffler sustained the injury while making Christmas dinner and had to undergo surgery to remove glass fragments from his hand.
The world number one missed the first PGA Tour event of the year, The Sentry, and will also sit out this week’s Sony Open in Hawaii.
Scheffler had hoped to return for the event in La Quinta, which starts January 16, but says he has been advised against it.
After consulting with my medical team, I have made the decision to withdraw from next week’s American Express tournament to give my injury more time to heal,” Scheffler said in an Instagram story.
“I am still hopeful to begin my 2025 season at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-am.”
Scheffler was named PGA Tour Player of the Year in 2024, having recorded seven victories – the most by any player in a calendar year since Tiger Woods in 2007.
