LIV Golf star’s $4 million win leaves Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler in the dust

Despite the stellar seasons of Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler this year, the PGA Tour duo have been usurped in the 2025 money list by an in-form LIV Golf star

Joaquin Niemann’s latest LIV Golf win not only banked him $4 million but also saw him leapfrog Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler for 2025 prize money earnings.

The 26-year-old has been on a tear this year with his victory at LIV Golf Virginia on Sunday marking his fourth individual win on the Saudi-backed tour this season – three more than any of his rivals.

In what was his sixth event win in just 17 months, he was heading into the action at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club having earned a tour-high $12.8M, which was over $4M more than second-placed Bryson DeChambeau.

His latest payout meant his earnings soared to almost $17M for 2025. That’s more than both Scheffler ($14.5M) and McIlroy ($13.9M) have earned on the PGA Tour since the start of January.

While they’ve each captured majors this season, with the world No. 1 winning the PGA Championship last month and the Northern Irishman earning his first Masters triumph in April, Niemann has yet to win one in his career.

However, that hasn’t marred his ability to remain a winning golfer and to earn millions while doing so. He birdied four of the last five holes on Sunday to narrowly beat out Graeme McDowell and Anirban Lahiri by just one shot.
