Scottie Scheffler secured his third major title with a three-shot victory at the PGA Championship, and his wife, Meredith, had one question for him after the win

When Scottie Scheffler nailed his final putt to clinch the PGA Championship, he tossed his hat to the ground in a fervent display of emotion before sharing a heartfelt hug with his loyal caddie, Ted Scott.

Waiting at the edge of the 18th green was his wife, Meredith, holding their baby son, Bennett, and flanked by Scottie’s parents, Scott and Diane. The couple shared an extended embrace, during which Meredith whispered a poignant message to her victorious husband.

However, she was acutely aware that there was one person without whom this victory would not have been possible. As Scottie held baby Bennett and hugged his parents, an elated Meredith began searching for Scott.

“Where’s Teddy?” She called out. Upon spotting him, still clutching the flag from the 18th hole, they shared a warm hug.

“So proud of you,” she told him, a clear nod to his instrumental role in helping her husband secure his third major win.

In a post-round interview with Skratch Golf, Scott offered some insight into Scheffler’s competitive mindset.

“He lives to compete,” Scott said. “He just wants to win. Every week. “He’s not in it for any other reason. He doesn’t care about fame, he doesn’t care about money. Yes, he gets paid, but what inspires him is so pure.

“It’s almost like he’s an amateur, playing for the love of the game and the love of the competition. It’s like he’s Bobby Jones.”

Meanwhile, Scheffler opened up about the significance of his support network during a press conference, giving a nod to everyone who’s played a part in his success, including caddie Scott, his lifelong coach Randy Smith, and his manager.

He expressed gratitude, noting: “I have a great team around me, all the way down to – I mean, I have a manager that keeps my mind clear. I don’t have a ton of responsibilities outside of golf.

“He does a really good job of letting me go play and do my thing. He knows what’s most important for me and gives me the ability to do that.
