Hollywood legend Gene Hackman, 95, and his wife Betsy Arakawa, 65, were found dead at their home in Santa Fe earlier this year in a tragic double death

Sensational police photographs have unearthed the poignant handwritten notes shared by Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa in the lead-up to their tragic passings earlier this year. The legendary actor was discovered deceased in his Santa Fe abode next to his spouse, who seemingly passed away a week prior.

Betsy, 65, succumbed to the uncommon hantavirus, while Gene at age 95 is thought to have died from heart disease amidst battling advanced Alzheimer’s.

New Mexico officials who responded to the scene have now publicized images from within the house of mourning, capturing the tender messages the couple would send each other. Gene affectionately called Betsy “lovely girl” and concluded his missives with: “Love, G.”

In one moving note, Gene wrote to Betsy: “Good morning. Happy several days after your birthday. Sorry still about the dinner and having to ask for your help, although it was appreciated. Love you and the guys, G.”

This suggests Gene required help with meals due to the effects of his Alzheimer’s, reports the Express.

In a different touching letter, Gene addressed his ongoing health care regimens, writing: “Ho, ho, I am off to see the wizard, the wiz of achie, pokie. She stabs me here and stabs me there, she stabs me almost everywhere (almost). But I survive because after I am still alive. (But sometimes just barely).”

In his heartfelt correspondence to Betsy, he penned sweet nothings such as: “Morning lovely girl, thinking of you and the other little guys. Love, G.”
