TGL set for ‘£60m expansion’ which could see Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth join

TGL could well be set to expand following the conclusion of its first campaign.

TGL could be set for an expansion in its second season in 2026, with discussions reportedly underway about introducing a Dallas franchise to the simulator league. This comes after a successful inaugural campaign in 2025

The indoor circuit, which was launched by golfing legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, finally teed off earlier this year. Atlanta Drive emerged as the first-ever TGL champions following last month’s finals at the SoFi Center. Now, just a week later, league bosses are already planning for the next season.

As per the Associated Press, there is a strong possibility of expanding the league. A group is reportedly planning to bid for a Dallas-based franchise, with the investment figure standing at £60m.

The introduction of a new team would naturally mean new players. If a Dallas team were to scout local talent, then world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and three-time major champion Jordan Spieth could potentially join the likes of Woods and McIlroy on the TGL set-up.

Both Scheffler and Spieth chose not to participate in the league’s first season, with the rounds based out of Palm Beach Gardens in Florida. However, the introduction of a Dallas team could open the door for the two stars to make their debuts.

The report also suggested that the league is considering adding a venue on the West Coast to ease travel for players. Spieth discussed his reasons for not signing up earlier this year.

Spieth opened up on The Smylie Kauffman Show about his decision not to join the TGL: “I’ve talked with those guys from the very beginning. Just where I’m at in life with my two young kids, and I live in Dallas, it just isn’t a great time right now, given when it is in our schedule. You’re seeing most of those guys shoot back.
