After Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll reunited last year following a rocky period in their relationship which saw the Northern Irishman file for divorce, they showed a united front after his win at the Players Championship

Jim Nantz doesn’t intend on retiring from calling the Masters any time soon, which will be news to the ears of CBS co-star Amanda Balionis.

Balionis has long been a big fan of Nantz, once labelling him as the world’s number one broadcaster. Known for his work on NFL, PGA Tour and NBA telecasts, Nantz is widely considered one of the finest sports commentators of all time.

Before stepping into the booth for his 40th Masters in April, he has declared that he intends on continuing to call the tournament until 2036. Balionis, who also covers a plethora of sports and works alongside Nantz, hailed the 65-year-old in an interview given last year.

“Jim Nantz is number one,” Balionis, 39, said. “I don’t think he could ever get enough credit for his talent. His memory knows no bounds; he recalls things in the moment in the most accurate way from 20 years ago that will put your jaw on the floor.

“But it’s not just what he does on camera; it’s the way he carries himself as a person. He takes so much time to support and be an advocate for the people around him, and that’s what I want to be remembered for, too.”

Nantz has been calling games since the early 1980s. In the years since, he’s been known as CBS’ top play-by-play announcer for the NFL while also serving as the network’s main voice for PGA Tour events.
