The CBS golf anchor hasn’t appeared at a tournament since reporting on the Genesis Invitational in February but is set for her long-awaited return at next month’s first major championship of the year

Amanda Balionis insists she is “coming for” the Masters as she prepares to make her long-awaited return to the PGA Tour next month.

The popular CBS golf anchor hasn’t appeared at a tournament since covering the Genesis Invitational across the weekend of February 14-16, with a share in broadcasting rights with NBC meaning the 39-year-old and her crew have had to sit out of the last six events – including this weekend’s Texas Children’s Houston Open.

And having already missed out on working the Mexico OpenCognizant ClassicArnold Palmer InvitationalThe Players Championship, and the Valspar ChampionshipBalionis and CBS must also step aside for next week’s Valero Texas Open, with it being the last of seven events which NBC holds the broadcasting rights for.

It is only during the following week on April 10 that the popular sportscaster will eventually return to TV screens with the return of the Masters, the first major golf championship of the season, but the past six weeks have at least afforded Balionis time to rest and recuperate and enjoy spending time with friends and family ahead of another hectic schedule.

Acknowledging this, Balionis recently shared a heartfelt social media post ahead of her return to covering the PGA Tour, which included a number of photos that highlight her special relationships. In them, she can be seen posing for selfies with friends, going out for food, walking her dog and keeping up with her fitness.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, she wrote: “Gratitude. For this time in my happy place, for the once strangers that became family, for all of the dogs, all of the nature and for the biggest reminder that nothing has meaning without community, connection and taking the time to take care of ourselves and the ones we love.”
