Bryson DeChambeau’s latest equipment experiment goes hilariously wrong

Bryson DeChambeau wears many hats. He’s a professional golfer, YouTube sensation and an equipment tester.

The latter is something DeChambeau used to do behind closed doors, but with a growing social presence, the former major winner has taken to testing random gear in the name of going viral. It’s all about the views, friends.

Costco clubs made the list. Hickories made the list. Clubs from Amazon made the list. Literally anything and everything that wouldn’t go in his bag made the list. You get the point.

The goal is always the same: See how low you can go with an ill-fitting set of sticks. It’s a fun experiment that’s produced some fascinating results.

With many of the most obvious test subjects checked off the list, DeChambeau shifted his focus to the cheapest set of golf clubs that could be purchased on Temu’s online marketplace.

For less than the price of a single wedge, DeChambeau scored an entire set of Temu clubs (bag included) and went to work trying to tame the difficult Fields Ranch East couse at PGA Frisco.

The goal? To shoot under par with the set. Judging by the quality of the clubs and DeChambeau’s initial reaction to them, he was sunk from the start.

I won’t spoil the ending but DeChambeau tried and fail to snap a shaft and helicopted more than a few clubs, so you can probably guess how this one played out.

If there’s a lesson to be learned from Bryson’s latest gear experiment, it’s that you get what you pay for when it comes to bargain shopping for clubs on Temu.
