Life without ski racing is pretty boring. to be honest.” said American skiing sensation  Lindsey Vonn to the BBC in a July 2024 interview. Her words reflect the love and commitment Lindsey Vonn has for her sport. Nothing seems to come in between Vonn and her passion for skiing. Each time she has emerged stronger than her adversities and shocked fans worldwide. Like the champion she is, the 40-year-old has 12 World Cup wins at the same venue! Recently, Lindsey Vonn turned to social media to express her candid thoughts about her injury and when we can expect her to ski at this venue again.

Cortina… how I have wanted to be back in the starting gate and to see the peaks of the Dolomites again! You never disappoint😍.”, Lindsey wrote on Facebook, sharing her feelings about the Italian venue Cortina d’Ampezzo. Cortina holds special value for Lindsey- after all, it has witnessed so many of the skier’s victories! Has Lindsey bid goodbye to Cortina once and for all? Well, no! As Lindsey further expressed on Facebook, “Wish I had been able to put together some better runs but I still need some time, training and patience. Good thing is, there are some big races there next year…..👀”. Looks like the Olympic champion is not done with Cortina. Not yet!

Lindsey and Cortina d’Ampezzo go back a long way. In 2004, Von secured her very first World Cup podium at Cortina. Over the years she has become one of the most decorated alpine skiers. The Italian venue has also witnessed some downs of Lindsey Vonn. A week ago, the skier met with a misfortune at the venue during downhill training. How has Lindsey been recuperating? Well, she only needed some medical help before she was up again, ready for more. Talk about perseverance!

Lindsey Vonn’s fans may see her back in action soon, “But for now… it’s time to get ready for the next races this weekend in Garmisch 💪🏻”, Vonn wrote on Facebook. Although we are surely looking forward to what the 40-year-old has to offer at the German venue this weekend, we would be lying if we say that we are not more excited for Lindsey’s comeback at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
