Shock. Surprise. Shock again. This is what fans felt in May 2024 when Lexi Thompson announced her retirement from the full-time LPGA schedule after the 2024 season. The 29-year-old shared “Golf is just a game. As frustrating as it can be, there is more to life.” There sure is! Thompson was excited to start a family and enjoy some downtime. Which by the way she is doing now!

She is now engaged to her not-so-mystery man Max Provost. Her last event was the Grant Thornton Invitational where she competed alongside Rickie Fowler but on December 28, 2024, the 2014 Chevron Championship hinted something. She posted a story at the Panther National Golf Course and added a subtle note that said, “I did say from full time.” Well, that is true! Thompson’s fans did not have to wait too long to see her holding clubs again.

Lexi Thompson loves her fellow golfer’s event

The Florida native was seen swinging and taking part in the Morgan and Friends golf tournament at the St Andrews Country Club alongside other golfers like Meaghan Francella, Brittany Lincicome, Brooke Henderson, and Lydia Ko. This one is an annual event organized by the Morgan Pressel Foundation to raise funds to fight cancer through early detection, research, genetic counseling, and the development of new treatments. This edition was 18th. Pressel lost her mother, Kathy, to breast cancer in 2003, and this is what inspired her to start this event.

Meaghan Francella posted a story of Thompson with a cheeky note that said “Full Send,” referring to her incredible swing. Can this be a clear indicator that the newly engaged golfer has not missed a beat despite her retirement from full-time commitments? An optimistic sign for her fans, indeed. Thompson described the day as “special.” Talking about the event, she wrote, “They are really making a difference in the world, and I’m just honored and happy I could be there to help out in any can, I can.”
