Rickie Fowler ‘Don’t Mind’ Becoming PGA Tour’s Laughing Stock After Cruel Fan Decision

If you’ve been following Rickie Fowler, you’ve probably noticed his nonchalant attitude. Love him or hate him on the course, but his cool demeanor is something we all can appreciate. Whether it’s his bold outfits, his easygoing chats with fans, or the funny little quirks that come with being a golf icon, the guy stays cool. So, when the Fore Play podcast brought up the whole “Rickied it” thing, his reaction was exactly what you’d expect: pure Fowler chill.

The host, Sam Riggs Bozoian, asked if he knew that golfers would say, “Oh, you Rickied it!” when they jam short putts. Yeah, that’s pretty cruel, but there’s nothing Fowler can’t handle! His reaction? Absolutely unbothered. “That’s fine as long as it’s when they make it,” he said with a laugh, proving once again he’s as cool as they come.

Apparently, as Riggs pointed out, this has been a thing in recreational golf for over a decade. However, Fowler didn’t seem too fussed about it. “No, I don’t mind that,” he said. “I wouldn’t say. I don’t always hit them hard. It’s more when you’re like, I’m making this one, or, you know, unsure about maybe a little bit of movement. You’re just like, ah, it’s straight, hit it.”

The host chimed in with, “If someone misses it way too hard and low, you’re like, no, no, I don’t want to be a part of that.” Fowler couldn’t help but laugh and admit, “Although I have done that. We’ve all been there.” It’s relatable, right? We’ve all had those ‘what was I thinking?’ moments.

And that’s Rickie Fowler for you—rolling with the quirks, keeping things light, and proving once again why he’s one of the most easygoing guys in the game.
