Scottie Scheffler earned over $62m, including bonuses, during his 2024 PGA Tour campaign; Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are only other players to win PGA Tour Player of the Year at least three times; watch Woods at the PNC Championship on December 21-22, live on Sky Sports

Scottie Scheffler has been voted PGA Tour Player of the Year for a third consecutive season as he comfortably saw off Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele.

World No 1 Scheffler, who won 91 per cent of the vote, is the first player to win the award in three successive years since Tiger Woods in 2005 to 2007.

Scheffler registered seven PGA Tour titles on his way to FedExCup victory and also won Olympic gold in Paris, although his win at The Masters was his only major success compared to Schauffele’s two.

It completes a remarkable season for Scheffler, who also became a father for the first time shortly after winning The Masters for a second time in three years, was arrested ahead of his second round at the PGA Championship in May and won Olympic gold in Paris.

Schauffele and Scheffler both enjoyed consistent seasons, posting 15 and 16 top-10 finishes respectively during 2024 and not missing a cut, while McIlroy won twice on the PGA Tour last season.

The Player of the Year award was determined by a member vote, with PGA Tour members who played in at least 15 events during the 2024 season eligible to vote.

On behalf of the PGA Tour, congratulations to Scottie Scheffler on a truly historic season, capped off with his first FedExCup title and today a third consecutive Jack Nicklaus Award as PGA Tour Player of the Year,” said PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan.
