Lexi Thompson is set to conclude her professional career as she tees off on Sunday, November 24. The conclusion of the 2024 CME Group Tour Championship will mark the end of her 15-year regular career on the LPGA Tour. She mentioned that she won’t miss hitting bad shots after retiring.

Thompson is at Tiburon Golf Club this week for the CME Group Tour Championship. She shot a 1-under 71 in the third round, bringing her to 4-under overall, 11 strokes behind the leader.

During a post-round interview, Thompson was asked about her post-retirement plans.

“Maybe just taking some time away from golf,” she replied. “I won’t miss-hitting bad shots out there. I won’t miss that.”

You won’t even finish on #18 because they decide to double tee” – Lexi Thompson expresses disappointment over dual tees on possibly the last round of her career

Following the third round of the CME Group Tour Championship, Lexi Thompson shared her disappointment of not being able to bid adieu on the 18th.

“Pretty sad when you’re at -4 in the season-ending event, which could easily be the last CME of your career, and you won’t even finish on #18 because they decide to double tee on the final day due to the TV coverage window,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Bummed I won’t be able to embrace all the incredible fans on 18 tomorrow as I finish. Hopefully, some will be out there on #9, but just know I’m grateful for you all,” she added.

The 11-time LPGA Tour winner Lexi Thompson is grouped with Linn Grant and Esther Henseleit for the fourth round of the CME Group Tour Championship. They will be the first group to tee off in the final round on Sunday, November 24, starting at 8:50 am ET from the 10th tee at Tiburon Golf Club.
