Bryson DeChambeau became the U.S. Open champion for the second time in his career in June this year, and the LIV Golf star has returned to his former college to show off his prize

Bryson DeChambeau was paraded as a hero by his former college at Southern Methodist University, as he returned to his alma mater with his U.S. Open trophy in hand.

DeChambeau secured the second major championship of his career at Pinehurst No. 2 this year, defeating Rory McIlroyduring a dramatic final round in North Carolina. Since then, the LIV Golf star has enjoyed parading his U.S. Open trophy around, with his latest stop SMU.

Attending the Mustangs’ clash with the Pittsburgh Panthers last weekend, the Crushers GC captain was driven onto the field at Gerald J. Ford Stadium with his trophy lifted into the air and two cheerleaders beside him.

DeChambeau then made his way into the stands and continued to parade his silverware with those around him as the game went on. The U.S. Open champion has been generous with his time when it comes to celebrating with his trophy ever since his victory.

In the immediate aftermath at Pinehurst in June, DeChambeau celebrated with those in attendance, allowing members of the gallery the chance to get their hands on the U.S. Open title. Speaking after his famous victory, the two-time winner outlined the importance of the crowd and his fans behind him.

“I just can’t thank you guys enough for all the support this week. You guys have meant the world to me. You are the best fans in the world, and I can’t thank you enough. What a group of people,” DeChambeau said in his victory speech after accepting the U.S. Open trophy.
