I’m excited to be on that plane” – Charley Hull shares her season-end plan after the Maybank Championship

Charley Hull spoke about her plans for the rest of the year, following her participation at the 2024 Maybank Championship. The tournament concluded on Sunday, October 28, at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Hull scored 72 and 70 in the first two rounds of the tournament. She improved with 3-under 69 and 7-under 65 in the final two rounds. She was tied for 12th on the final leaderboard, with Linn Grant, Lucy Li, Mirabel Ting, Celine Boutier, and Nataliya Guseva.

In the post-tournament press conference, The 28-year-old was asked what she looked forward to most in the last few events. She said (via ASAP Sports),

“I like the Tour Championship. Obviously I like the golf course the week before as well. I’m excited to be on that plane home to spend Christmas at home.”

The CME Group Tour Championship will be held from November 21 to 24 at the Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida. Hull will also compete in the Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican from November 14 to 17, in Belleair, Florida.

Talking about her performance in the final round at the Maybank Championship, Hull said,

“I played pretty well from the get-go to be fair. I know I shot 65, but I left a lot of shots out there, especially on my back nine; missed few putts. But I had a good up and down on the last to make par, and shot 7-under. I felt like I had four weeks off so kind of first few rounds was getting back into playing and now I feel pretty good.”

Charley Hull won $46,577 for her performance at the tournament.

A look at Charley Hull’s performance in 2024

Charley Hull has had a decent 2024 season. In 15 starts on the LPGA Tour, she has made 13 cuts. She has had four top-10 finishes and 11 top-25 finishes. She is currently positioned 46th in the Race to CME Globe standings.

Charley Hull’s best performances include a fifth-place finish at the ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open, a T7 finish at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, and a T10 finish at the FIR HILLS SERI PAK Championship. Her other notable finishes include a T13 at JM Eagle LA Championship and a T16 finish at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
