“I’ve got a bit of a problem with it”: Jordan Spieth’s right-hand man reveals his addiction to sweets

Jordan Spieth shares a close relationship with his caddie, Michael Greller, and the duo has been together for over ten years. Greller was a full-time math teacher in Seattle before joining Spieth as a caddie in 2011. The two are well-known for having plenty of chatter before a shot as they discuss all possibilities, with Greller trying his best to give inputs.

Greller is enjoying some time off as Spieth is recovering from the wrist surgery he underwent after the FedExCup playoffs. The 46-year-old appeared on Golf.com’s The Scoop for an interview and spoke about his addiction to sweets.

The host, Claire Rogers, welcomed Jordan Spieth’s caddie, Michael Greller, on the show and asked what flavor of ice cream he had got. (0:47 to 1:01).

“We just went with the mint chocolate chip. It’s kind of like my go-to,” Greller said.

When asked if he was a big desserts, sweets, or ice cream guy, the pro golfer’s caddie replied positively.

“Yeah, I have got a bit of a problem with the sweets,” Greller added.

Michael Greller was a full-time math teacher at a high school in Seattle and caddied part-time at his local club to earn some extra money. He met Jordan Spieth in 2011 when the US Junior Amateur came to Seattle.

The two joined forces and Greller took a year away from teaching as he expected Spieth’s progress to be gradual. However, Spieth surprised everyone as he won the John Deere Classic during his debut season.

In 2015, he played some of the best golf of his life and won two majors – The Masters and The US Open. The 31-year-old’s third major win came in 2017 when a pep talk from his caddie inspired him after his campaign had started to wobble.
