Rory McIlroy is set to make an appearance in week four of the TGL which will finally launch next year.

It was announced that the first round of Tiger Woods’ and McIlroy’s innovate indoor golf league will take place on January 7th.

Woods and McIlroy revealed their plans in 2022 and had hoped to launch the league earlier this year before they were forced to postpone their maiden season after the SoFi Center in Palm Beach suffered severe damage.

Now a date has finally been set and Woods and McIlroy will be among a host of big names set to compete.

“TGL presented by SoFi, the new tech-infused, team golf league founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TMRW Sports in partnership with the PGA TOUR, today announced its inaugural season schedule, premiering Tuesday, Jan. 7 on ESPN and ESPN+,” a statement read.

“The schedule includes 15 regular season matches, then a four-team Semifinals, before culminating with the top two teams competing to win the SoFi Cup in a best-of-three Finals Series on Monday, March 24, and Tuesday, March 25.”

The inaugural match will see Xander Schauffele’s New York Golf Club take on Wyndham Clark of Bay Golf Club which includes Shane Lowry and Ludvig Aberg.

The league will include fifteen regal season matches before the four best teams will play in the semi finals before a season ending finale.

McIlroy will join up in week four when his Boston Common side face Woods’ Jupiter Links team with Woods set to appear in week two.

Tyrrell Hatton and Jon Rahm are two big name golfers to have been removed from the TGL upon their moves to LIV Golf this season.
