McKibbin holding on to PGA TOUR card ahead of playoffs

Published

on

Tom McKibbin dropped two places to 16th on the Race to Dubai Rankings meaning he occupies the tenth and final spot for a PGA TOUR card ahead of next week’s DP World Tour playoffs in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

McKibbin is skipping the Genesis Championship in South Korea in order to take a much needed rest as he gears up for the final straight.

The 21-year-old won’t have to look on at events at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club too nervously with just Guido Migliozzi teeing it up this week as one of his nearest challengers.

So, if Migliozzi has an off week, McKibbin’s destiny will be in his own hands with two events to go.

PGA Tour

Seamus Power will look to bounce back from a missed cut at the Shriner’s Children’s Open when he heads to Japan for the Zozo Championship.

Power did fall to 53rd in the FedEx Cup rankings but he still maintains a commanding position in the FedEx Cup Fall series with the top-60 earning starts in signature events at Pebble Beach and The Genesis in 2025.

LPGA Tour

Leona Maguire gets back on the saddle at the Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumper Golf and Country Club in Malaysia.

Maguire is ranked 51st in the Race to CME Globe Rankings with the top-60 and ties advancing to the Tour Championship at the end of the season so she will be eyeing a good result to consolidate her place as soon as possible.

Champions Tour

Padraig Harrington and Darren Clarke are in Schwab Cup playoff action at the Simmons Bank Championship.
