Korda was adamant about avoiding any distractions during her training sessions:
“No music, that’s distracting. [I use] one ball and…I’m trying to score, you just have to make birdie the old-fashioned way. I always write down my stats on the scorecard and usually send them to my coach after Jamie Mulligan.” [2:50 – 3:08]
It is interesting to note that Nelly Korda stated that professional players must also train the moments when they do not play well:
“I mean, you know we’re human, at the day at the end of the day, we’re going to miss two foot putts, you know, so it’s important to practice them too.” [3:12 – 3:20]
The video is part of the Tee Time with Trottie series on the Golf Galaxy YouTube channel. It was the second of two produced with Korda’s participation, the first being released a week ago, while the second was released this Thursday, October 17th.
When will Nelly Korda be playing again?
Nelly Korda was scheduled to resume her LPGA Tour schedule on the Asian wing, which is currently being held by the circuit. However, she was forced to withdraw from those events due to a neck injury.
As a result, her return to competition will take place when the tour returns to the United States. This will be at the LOTTE Championship in Hawaii starting November 6th, but Korda has not yet committed to this tournament.
This indicates that Korda’s next appearance will be at the ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge, for which she has already signed up. It was also announced that the World No. 1 will play in the pro-am event of this tournament with Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) star Caitlin Clark.
Korda has three more events on her schedule this season: the CME Group Tour Championship, the LPGA Tour’s year-end event; the second edition of the Grant Thornton Invitational, where she will be teaming up with Tony Finau again; and the PNC Championship, where she will play with her father, Petr Korda.
