Out of Form Rickie Fowler To End 2024 PGA Tour Season Soon and in a ‘Fun Way’ After Constant Backlashes
So, what’s been happening with Rickie Fowler this season? Well, that’s something golf fans have been wondering for quite a while now, but the surprising thing is that the golfer himself is wondering the same thing. Last year, Fowler was unstoppable as he was achieving one victory after another. For instance, he won the FedEx St. Jude Championship and finished 16th in the FedEx Cup.
To add to that, the golfer also claimed the title at the Rocket Mortgage Classic with an amazing 24-under score. But his 2024 run so far has been lacking luster, to be honest. This season Fowler has struggled to keep the same position as last year with no wins, no top-10 finishes, and a disappointing 13-over score and T71 finish at the British Open. But that’s not even the worst part because he also missed the FedEx Cup Playoffs, which was supposed to be his last way to bounce back.
So, what is the golfer doing to make up for this? Well for starters, Fowler is currently playing at the Shriners Open in Las Vegas and has all the support he needs even after the dull months. While talking about many things, which also included his performance this year, Fowler reflected on his fondness for Las Vegas which is a city he called home for a year after turning pro. “It’s a fun place. I lived here for a year when I first turned pro. I used to play and practice a bit here at Summerlin. Vegas is always a fun place to come back to. Great city, good food, just about anything you want to do, it’s here”, said the golfer, per TPC Summerlin Press Conference.
Fans already know that their favorite golfer always takes a break in the fall after a strong season, but this year he’s making exceptions maybe because he hasn’t had a really strong season. He’s competing in this week’s event and will compete in next week’s tournament in Japan. Moreover, he will also compete in the Grant Thornton, but he’s keeping things easy while still pushing through. “Yeah, as of right now. This week, next week, and play the Grant Thornton. A little fun way to finish off the year”, he said.
While ‘having fun’ surely sounds like the way to end the season, Fowler still has some strong plans for the future which may or may not include a few major wins.
Rickie Fowler has his eyes set on the prize
Rickie Fowler’s ready to take his game to new heights and we mean literally! In the latest interview at the TPC Summerlin, Fowler talked about what he has planned for the future and it sure seems like the golfer is getting back in form. With a PGA Tour win already under his belt, he’s eyeing the ultimate prize which is a major championship.
