Healing From Surgery, Jordan Spieth Makes Rare Outing With Scottie Scheffler for a Special Cause

Let us travel a bit back in time. A month ago, to be specific. Location? Brookhaven Country Club. Back then, the 31-year-old golfer was spotted with a cast on his left wrist. Even so, he made sure to enjoy the day with the junior golfers who were present with him that day. Now, fast forward to the present… The cast seems to be off, fortunately enough, as Jordan Spieth was spotted with none other than Scottie Scheffler during a function.

Greg Abbot, the 48th governor of Texas, took to host some of the biggest athletes of the game at the Governor’s Mansion. “Recognized these fellow Texans for their contribution to the sport,” wrote the official on his X handle as he shared snippets with the caption, “Our talented Texas golfers make history.”

Who all were there, you ask? Well, Abbot hosted the likes of Mark Brooks, Scottie Scheffler, Texas Terry, Tom Kite, Ben Crenshaw, John Fields, and Jordan Spieth. And in one of the snaps, the 3-time major champ was spotted posing alongside the governor with a plaque in his left hand. Yes, you read that right! He was holding the memento without any difficulty using the exact arm that had undergone surgery.

Good news for the golfer and his fans? You bet! Jordan Spieth had, during the charity event in Dallas, disclosed his plans for the future, hopefully so. “I think that by 2025, by Jan. 1, it’s my goal to be tournament-ready,” said the professional. “And for me, that would be not just going out and seeing how it feels, you know, but expecting to play at my ceiling.”

Quite a sensible and encouraging deadline the golfer has kept for himself, in all honesty. Although he won’t be able to tee it off at the Sentry on January 2, owing to him not being exempted from the same, the Americans will surely be looking forward to the other upcoming events. What’s more, he would hope to dish out a much better performance than what he put up in 2024, owing to his unfortunate injury.
