Bryson DeChambeau has been a key figure for LIV Golf since making the switch from the PGA Tour to the Saudi-funded league – and has always been a fan of CEO Greg Norman

Bryson DeChambeau has previously revealed his admiration for LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman, even before his switch from the PGA Tour to the rival league.

DeChambeau was one of the standout signings for Norman’s LIV in its early days, making the move to the Saudi-backed league in June 2022. Since then, the Modesto-born golfer hasn’t looked back, becoming a key figure in the LIV setup as it grows alongside the PGA Tour.

In 2024, DeChambeau had one of the most successful years of his career, clinching his second major championship with a thrilling win over Rory McIlroy at the US Open at Pinehurst No. 2 in June.

Just two months prior, the American also made waves at the Masters, having positioned himself as the 36-hole leader at Augusta National before eventually being overtaken by world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler over the weekend.

Once seen as a villain among golf enthusiasts, DeChambeau’s popularity was evident at Augusta.

He also received support from his league CEO Norman, who bought a general admission ticket and roamed the grounds of Augusta to watch his players compete. When asked about what it was like to have the backing of his boss, DeChambeau couldn’t praise the Australian enough.

Bryson DeChambeau has expressed his admiration for Greg Norman, saying: “I think it shows he cares, first off,” and adding, “I’ve not had any poor interactions with Greg my entire career. He was with Cobra for a long time when I was with Cobra, as well, Cobra Puma, and he was always great to me and he’s been great to me through LIV. I respect him coming out here and showing support.

“I just look at it as a sign that he cares and nothing more than that. And if people have a different perspective on that, then that’s up for them to decide. But in my opinion, it just shows that he really cares about the game in general.”
