Four of the biggest stars from the PGA Tour and LIV Golf with face off in a match play event in mid-December.

The stage is set for the tag-team showdown featuring a pair of top golfers from North Texas just before Christmas.

Former major winners Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy of the PGA Tour will square off against LIV Golf’s Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka in an 18-hole team match play competition called “The Showdown” at MGM Resorts’ Shadow Creek in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Dec. 17, BZ Entertainment and EverWonder Studio announced on Wednesday.

Golfweek reported last month that the event was being put together, with all participants in agreement to play. Full broadcast details for “The Showdown” will be announced at a later date.

“It’s exciting to have the opportunity to compete with these guys in a premier match-play event that fans are really going to love watching. This will be my first time taking part in something like this, so I’m looking forward to putting on a show for the fans,” said Scheffler in a statement.

“Usually in these formats I have to play against Rory, so getting to team up with him here is going to be a lot of fun.”

We look forward to doing just that on December 17. I am excited to be a part of The Showdown and deliver a phenomenal and entertaining experience for fans. Once enemies, now teammates, Brooks and I are ready to go to work.”
