The U.S. team has serious ambitions for this year’s Solheim Cup, where they will be seeking a victory on home soil. This year’s event will be held at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia. The U.S. team has not secured wins in the last three editions of the Solheim Cup. The most recent event ended in a tie, while the previous two were won by the Europeans, including one on U.S. soil.

Stacy Lewis: Lexi has definitely changed women’s golf

Captain Stacy Lewis knows how to motivate her players and instill confidence that they can achieve victory. On paper, the U.S. players are significantly stronger, but previous years have shown that paper strength does not always translate to success.

One of the main assets for the team will be Nelly Korda, currently the world’s No. 1 golfer. Alongside her is the experienced Lexi Thompson, who, at just 29 years old, is competing in her seventh Solheim Cup. Lewis’ vice-captain, Paula Creamer, has emphasized Thompson’s role, stating that she is frequently discussed when it comes to the Solheim Cup. Creamer highlighted that Thompson has made massive changes in the world of golf and expressed pride in how much Thompson has progressed over the years.
