It’s not their life” – Charley Hull hits back at critics over hate on being herself
Charley Hull, during a press conference at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club on September 12, 2024, addressed criticism she has faced for being herself. The English golfer, known for her candidness, responded to questions about her social media popularity and how she handles criticism, saying, “It’s not their life.

She emphasized that she lives her life on her terms, regardless of outside opinions, and attributes her connection with fans to her authenticity. Despite criticism, especially regarding her smoking habit on the course, Hull remains unapologetic, maintaining that she simply chooses to be herself.

Hull’s growing social media presence is evident, with over 85,900 followers on X (formerly Twitter) and more than 625,000 on Instagram. She disclosed, however, that her social media is managed by her team, and she hasn’t personally engaged with her accounts for over six months. Nevertheless, Hull acknowledged her fans’ support and how it helps promote the sport. With a remarkable Solheim Cup record that began when she was just 17, Hull remains an influential figure in women’s golf, demonstrating both her talent and resilience.
