Jim Furyk says Jordan Spieth’s injury had “zero” role in his omission from Presidents Cup team

Jim Furyk Said,

“Zero. Zero. I think JT (Jordan Spieth) has the opportunity to pair with a lot of different guys and also be a leader, if that makes sense. Take the young guy under his arm. We don’t happen to have that many rookies on this team, when you look at it. I think Sahith and Russell are two guys that haven’t played either on a Presidents Cup or Ryder Cup team.

We have a lot of veteran status, but JT – I realize I didn’t pick him, but I’m not going to say anything but great things about the guy because I love him to death.”

Following his participation at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, Spieth shared on X (formerly Twitter) that he had undergone surgery on his left wrist. In the post, he added:

Focused on rest and rehab, and I look forward to returning to golf healthy and prepared for 2025!”

How was Jordan Spieth’s year on the PGA Tour so far?

Jordan Spieth secured third place at The Sentry. He next played the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, finishing in a tie for 39th place, and then at the Phoenix Open where he finished T6. Next, he played the Arnold Palmer Invitational to finish at T30. Following that, he missed cutlines at the Players Championship and the Valspar Championship.
