Fresh off a 4-under-par finish in Thursday’s opening round at Le Golf National in Guyancourt, France, the No. 1 golfer in the world enters Friday’s second round tied for sixth place in the 60-player field.

The former Texas Longhorn is four strokes behind Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama for the lead. In Thursday’s opening round, Scheffler finished either with a birdie (four total) or par, which has positioned the first-time Olympian in a strong position for a medal contention.
