Lexi Thompson Expands Retirement Plans Amid Evian Championship Upset
Goodbyes are never easy, and this is especially true for one of the top women golfers, Lexi Thompson. Earlier this year, just before the 2024 US Open, the eleven-time LPGA Tour winner announced her retirement from the sport, citing the intense demands of professional golf.
However, it appears that Thompson had her post-retirement plans well-prepared before making the heartbreaking announcement to retire from professional golf. Despite 2024 being her final season, she chose to continue her pattern, starting in 2019, of not participating in the latest major, the Amundi Evian Championship. So, what exactly are her plans after leaving the sport for good?
Lexi Thompson is ready to take her passion for fitness to the next level
In a recent Instagram story, the one-time major winner shared a poll asking her audience to respond with ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the question, “Who’s excited about joining the Lexi Fitness App Team?!” This confirmed the launch of her fitness app, a project she had hinted at in the recent past.
Discussing her retirement plans before the 2024 US Open, she hinted at this upcoming venture: “No, of course, I’ve thought about it. I’m super into fitness. Hopefully, I’ll have my Lexi Fitness app up and going very soon. And just enjoying life.“
