Fans on social media reacted to Paige Spiranac’s explanation of the rules for calculating golfers’ handicaps by citing Tiger Woods as an example. Spiranac shared that players need to take the average of their last 20 scores, specifically picking the best eight scores from their previous 20 matches, to calculate their handicap.

Paige Spiranac also discussed the plus handicap score, noting that a + handicap is better than scratch, and a +3 score is considered good. In her post, Spiranac revealed that professional golfers don’t keep a handicap score but mentioned that someone once told her Tiger Woods’ handicap is +9. Paige Spiranac’s handicap is +3.4.

“You calculate your golf handicap by taking the average score of the best eight of your last 20 scores. Meaning you can still have some pretty shitty rounds and still be a low handicap. 4. Pros don’t keep a handicap but someone calculated Tiger at a +9 once which is insane,” Spiranac tweeted.

Fans jumped into the comments section to appreciate Spiranac for sharing valuable advice.

“Incredible. I can barely play +3 strokes on a single hole,” wrote a fan.

One fan commented on Tiger Woods’ reported handicap.

“+9 for Tiger is insane,” commented another fan.

“Single digit index is a very good golfer – plus index is incredible,” jotted another fan.

“Paige is likely to break par at most courses,” wrote a fan.
