Golf and social media star Paige Spiranac delivered a very important reminder to fans as preparations for The Open continue.

The 2023 edition will take place at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Holyoke, the 13th time the championship has been played at the venue.

In her latest video for PointsBet, Spiranac made sure to remind fans what the proper name of the event is.

Spiranac and her reminder
The entirety of British golf fans call it The Open, while those in the United Stated tend to call it The British Open.

Even last year’s champion, Cameron Smith, referred to it as The British Open during his pre-tournament press conference on Monday.

However, Paige isn’t having any of that.

“Hello everyone, major season in golf is sadly coming to an end with The Open this week, and your yearly reminder to say The Open and not The British Open or else you’ll make a golf purist’s mind explode,” said Spiranac.

“But let’s preview. They’re going to be playing at Royal Liverpool, it’s a par 72 playing 7347 yards. Cameron Smith is the defending champion. Some notable winners at Royal Liverpool was Rory McIlroy in 2014 and Tiger Woods in 2006.

“It’s going to be a great week. I want to hear from you. Who do you think is going to win? Comment down below, I’ll be giving my picks on Wednesday. I am on a massive heater right now so you might want to listen to my picks.”

As for predictions, Paige correctly guessed that Rickie Fowler would win the Rocket Mortgage Classic and Rory McIlroy to win the Scottish Open.

Time will tell if Paige can make it three in a row.
