Family frustration: Andy Murray shares family frustration as children taken home during title win

Andy Murray revealed that his children missed out on watching him win the Lexus Surbiton Trophy. The world No 43 was cruising to victory when the rain came while he was leading by a set and a break. And his kids were forced to go home before he could close out the match 6-3 6-2.

Murray got his grass-court season off to the best start possible as he won the title in Surbiton. With the win, he became the oldest man ever to win a trophy on the grass at Challenger level.

It also marked the first time since 2016 that he won a trophy on home soil. The 36-year-old had been hoping to have his four children watch on as he clinched victory but his plans were ruined by the rain as play was halted with the Brit leading 6-3 3-1.

Murray also had a triple break point when play was suspended and he raced to the finish line when they finally returned to the court three hours later. But he revealed that his children had arrived at the worst time possible – coming when the rain came and being taken home before the match could continue.
